Finance Assistant Support (Temp)

Schedule: Fully onsite | Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm
Duration: Temporary (4-6 months); potential to convert to temp-to-hire
Pay Rate: $23-$24/hour

A confidential nonprofit organization is seeking a Finance Assistant Support professional to join their Finance team on a temporary basis. This role will provide clerical and administrative support to the fiscal team while covering a current vacancy. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with financial data in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience with data entry in an accounting system
• High school diploma required; some accounting coursework or accounting office experience preferred
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with financial data
• Strong communication and customer service skills

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Fiscal Specialists with preparing and updating general ledger schedules and reconciliations, including bank reconciliations
• Prepare and maintain Excel reports and spreadsheets for various fiscal projects, including payment tracking, vendor invoices, and volunteer hours
• Review employee timesheets for accuracy as directed
• Perform data entry for approved journal entries and maintain journal entry logs
• Maintain check files, journal entry files, and other finance-related filing systems
• Serve as backup support for cash receipts
• Provide general administrative support to the Finance team as needed
